Apply for a Scholarship
The Rees Scholarship Foundation offers multiple scholarship programs to support the HVACR industry. Please review the programs below to find the one that best fits your needs.
General Information
The Rees Foundation accepts applications year-round, and has two review deadlines
- Fall Semester Applications: October 1
- Spring Semester Applications: June 1
- Scholarship money will go to the school’s accounting department and will be credited to the student’s account
- Scholarship money may not be used for more than two semesters
- Unused scholarship money shall be returned to the Rees Foundation
- Recipients will receive a free Ready to Work test
You may now submit your Rees Scholarship application and transcript online through our website. If the school is unable to submit an official electronic transcript, please have them send a sealed official transcript to us via traditional mail to the following address:

Rees Scholarship Foundation — HVACR and Water Heating Technician Program
Eligibility
Must be enrolled in an HVACR training program at an institutionally accredited school.
Requirements
- Completed application form (Background questions, 500-word essay, and two recommendation letters)
- Official transcripts (from high school, college, or university) sealed or provided directly by the school
Rees Scholarship Foundation — Veterans Program
Eligibility
Must be a veteran enrolled in an HVACR training program at an institutionally accredited school.
Requirements
- Completed application form (Background questions, 250-500 word essay, two recommendation letters, copy of DD214)
- Official transcripts (from high school, college, or university) sealed or provided directly by the school
Donald L Frendberg Program
Eligibility
Must be enrolled in an HVACR training program at an institutionally accredited school in the state of Florida.
Requirements
- Completed application form (Background questions, 250-500 word essay, two recommendation letters, copy of DD214)
- Official transcripts (from high school, college, or university) sealed or provided directly by the school
Process
All applicants will be screened based on the eligibility requirements stated above. A fair, objective, consistent, and equitable process will be used to narrow the field of candidates to the desired number of finalists.
The Rees Foundation forwards a list of qualified applicants to the Review Committee. In awarding scholarships, the Review Committee will consider the nominee's career objectives and the extent to which that individual is committed to a career in the HVACR industry.
The Rees Foundation will notify scholarship recipients by email.
